The witch walked in the yard, carrying a broom. There was anticipation for spring in the air. Promise of life after winter, when flowers and plants would come alive. The witch would sweep the porch, breathing deep the fresh spring air.

Light stripes visible in the wooden pearls are made by Kaija's husband Erkki Ruokonen's unique technique, which is still used to hand-dye all wooden products in Raisio.
