Pöytälukki candleholder, brass
The impressive Pöytälukki, made from brass, is a real eye-catcher designed by Kaija Aarikka in 1974. It’s light but robust, as if defying gravity. In the hands of an unconventional designer and bright-eyed experimenter, brass was shaped into a timeless classic.
The Pöytälukki candleholder, designed in 1974, consists of four brass rings welded together. There is a place for a straight candle above each ring.
All Aarikka products are handmade and thus unique. In our brass products, this handmade, unique quality is seen in the finishing process, where the coating on the brass product can be uneven and lively. This gives every item an unique final touch, and this is why our brass products are not identical to one another.

Did you notice the wood grains?
Every wooden Aarikka item is unique, because every piece of wood is unique. Products are handmade, visible in them and the volume they are made in - small volumes for a need. So the small details of life are visible. Light stripes visible in the wooden pearls are made by Kaija's husband Erkki Ruokonen's unique technique, which is still used to hand-dye all wooden products in Raisio.
